(Particle Oxidation Catalyst,POC)

Function
Through the multi-fold unblocked channel, it absorbs particulate matter in the exhaust gas, and uses the high temperature of the exhaust gas (250℃ - 500℃) or the front-stage DOC catalyst to combine nitrogen monoxide with oxygen to generate nitrogen dioxide. Under the action of the catalyst, the oxygen produced by nitrogen dioxide burns with the captured carbon particles, oxidizing the particulate matter into carbon dioxide and discharging it, thereby reducing particulate matter emissions; it also has a certain conversion rate for HC (hydrocarbons) and CO (carbon monoxide), which can reach 80%-90%.

Features
Active regeneration: no manual intervention is required, and regeneration is achieved through high temperature or chemical reaction of the exhaust gas;
Low exhaust resistance: using a unique structure, compared with some particulate filters, it will not significantly increase the exhaust back pressure;
Strong sulfur resistance: relatively high tolerance to fuel sulfur content;
Simple structure: no need for complex ECU control and additional equipment;
Small vehicle size: easy to arrange on the car.
Disadvantages:
Limited filtering accuracy: only larger carbon particles can be filtered, and the ability to capture carbon particles below PM2.5 is low, and the PM reduction efficiency is 30%-80%;
High working temperature requirements: it needs to be used in conjunction with DOC to achieve suitable working temperature conditions;
Relatively high cost: the price is higher than DOC, although lower than DPF, but its popularity is limited in actual applications.
