Q1 What does the SCR system consist of?

Our SCR catalyst system consists of the following components:

  • Copper-based zeolite SCR catalyst (Cu-SCR) – the primary catalyst that reduces NOx emissions using ammonia from urea.
  • 2-inch Ammonia Slip Catalyst (ASC) – installed downstream of the main SCR to oxidise any excess NH₃ that passes through, helping reduce ammonia slip into the atmosphere.

Advantages of this configuration:

  • NOx reduction function: The Cu-SCR catalyst is designed to support NOx reduction in diesel exhaust aftertreatment systems when matched with the correct vehicle system.
  • Ammonia slip control: The 2-inch ASC section helps treat remaining NH₃ after the SCR reaction.
  • Integrated design: Combining SCR and ASC in one catalyst assembly helps save installation space compared with using a separate ASC component.
  • Aftermarket replacement option: Suitable for repair and replacement use when the size, part number, and system configuration are confirmed.
Q2 Working principle of copper-based SCR

Copper-based zeolite SCR operates through catalytic reduction reactions in the diesel exhaust system. The process can be summarised as follows:

  1. Urea injection: A urea-water solution, also known as AdBlue / DEF, is sprayed into the exhaust stream upstream of the SCR catalyst. Under exhaust heat, urea decomposes and forms ammonia for the SCR reaction.
  2. NOx reduction over Cu-zeolite: The released NH₃ reacts with nitrogen oxides, mainly NO and NO₂, on the active copper sites within the zeolite catalyst structure.
  3. Catalytic conversion: Under suitable operating conditions, NOx is converted mainly into nitrogen and water.
  4. ASC function: After the main SCR section, the downstream ASC helps treat remaining NH₃ and reduce ammonia slip.

The actual performance depends on the complete exhaust aftertreatment system, including urea dosing, exhaust temperature, sensors, ECU calibration, engine condition, and correct installation.

Q3 What is the cell density, CPSI, of the SCR?

Our SCR catalyst features a cell density of 400 CPSI, cells per square inch.

Why 400 CPSI is commonly used:

  • Balanced flow and surface area: 400 CPSI provides a relatively high geometric surface area while maintaining suitable exhaust flow.
  • Common SCR specification: 400 CPSI is widely used in many diesel SCR catalyst applications.
  • Custom options: If you require a different cell density for a specific application, please contact our technical team for confirmation.
Q4 Vehicle application and part number

Part Number: 9AA031

Compatible Vehicle:

  • Iveco

Please verify compatibility with your vehicle's specific engine code, emission standard, and original part number before purchasing. If you are unsure, please contact our sales team with your VIN, part number, or product photos for confirmation.

Q5 Warranty policy: 1 year

Our copper-based SCR catalysts are covered by a 1-year warranty from the date of purchase against manufacturing defects under normal use conditions.

What is covered:

  • Manufacturing defects in the ceramic substrate, such as cracks, broken walls, or structural failures caused by production issues.
  • Coating integrity issues, such as abnormal flaking or detachment caused by poor manufacturing quality.
  • Manufacturing defects in the ASC section that affect its normal function.

What is NOT covered:

  • Urea quality issues: Damage caused by poor-quality urea / DEF / AdBlue or incorrect urea concentration.
  • Fuel contamination: Damage caused by unsuitable fuel, excessive sulfur, or other fuel-related contamination.
  • Engine-related issues: Engine misfires, excessive oil consumption, faulty injectors, incorrect air-fuel ratio, overheating, or excessive soot loading.
  • Physical damage: Cracks or breakage caused by improper handling, incorrect installation, impact, or transport damage after delivery.
  • Chemical poisoning: Catalyst deactivation caused by phosphorus, sulfur, alkali metals, heavy metals, or other contaminants.
  • Improper installation: Incorrect orientation, insufficient mounting support, exhaust leaks, or installation that does not match the vehicle system.
  • Normal wear and tear: Gradual efficiency reduction caused by ageing, ash accumulation, or long-term use.

Warranty claim procedure: To make a warranty claim, please contact our support team with your order number, vehicle details, installation records, fault codes, and clear photos or videos of the issue. We will review each case individually and determine whether the issue qualifies for warranty coverage.

We recommend professional installation and regular maintenance to ensure the SCR operates within its designed working conditions.
